Scholarships Available to Military Family Members!

The ESC Board wants our members to be
aware of the valuable health and wellness
programs  available at Fort Hood.

PROJECT HOME FRONT

Scott & White is offering free behavioral health counseling for family
members of service members that have or are deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan.
The sponsoring service members do not have to be on active federal service
for their families to be eligible.  Family members interested in using these
services should contact the Scott & White Health Clinic in Killeen at
680-1100, the Scott & White appointment line 1-800-792-3710, or the Scott &
White Mental Health Center 254-724-2585 and ask for a 'Project Home Front'
appointment.  Family members can also walk in at the Scott & White Killeen
clinic (Pediatric side of the clinic) near the Putt-Putt center off of Stan
Schlueter.  The clinic will initially offer the Project Home Front
appointments 2-3 days each week, but are prepared to expand according to the
demand for services.  This program is not affiliated with Carl R. Darnall
Army Medical Center or TRICARE.  All care provided will remain confidential.
Scott & White received a $750,000 grant from the Dallas Foundation Texas
Resources for Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment (TRIAD) Fund to help address the
unmet mental health needs of the family members of military personnel who
have served or are serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The grant is for a
two-year period, but could be extended if the program proves to be
effective.
